Cana Brava 3 Year Old
Made in Panama at the Las Cabras Distillery which first started in live as a sugar mill in 1919, fell into neglect, then later uncovered in the mid 1990s and transformed into the distillery it is today. The Rum is aged for 18 to 24 months in new American oak barrels before being finished in bourbon and Tennessee whiskey barrels for 12 to 24 months. After that Cana Brava is carbon filtered to remove all colour, finishing as a rum designed for mixing.
The spirit is bottled by The 86 Company, who bottle a range of spirits into bottles designed by bartenders and for bartenders, and that gets my thumbs up! Keeping in mind re-use of the bottle, measurements, grip and efficiency when working on the bar.
